ARA‑290 (generic name cibinetide) is an 11‑amino‑acid peptide engineered from the helix‑B surface of erythropoietin (EPO). Unlike full‑length EPO, ARA‑290 is non‑erythropoietic (it does not raise red‑blood‑cell counts). It targets a tissue‑protective receptor called the EPOR–CD131 heteroreceptor (sometimes called the innate repair receptor), with the goal of reducing inflammation, protecting stressed tissue, and supporting small‑nerve fiber health.
