Description
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone made naturally during pregnancy. As a medication, it’s a prescription injectable used in men and women for fertility‑related indications. It works by mimicking luteinizing hormone (LH) at the LH/chorionic gonadotropin receptor (LHCGR). In the U.S., hCG is FDA‑approved for specific uses (e.g., inducing ovulation in women; treating certain forms of hypogonadism/cryptorchidism in males). It is not approved for weight loss or bodybuilding.
About the vial: “10,000 IU” refers to the total biologic activity in the vial before reconstitution. A clinician determines diluent volume and per‑dose IU.
