Description
Bacteriostatic Water for Injection (BWFI) is sterile water that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It is not a peptide or active drug. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth so the vial can be used multiple times when proper aseptic technique is followed. It is intended as a diluent to reconstitute or dilute certain medications for parenteral use.
